In 2015, the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner launched a competition with local schools where they were tasked with designing a mobile phone app. Those shortlisted were invited to present their designs in front of a panel in 2016 in the style of Dragons’ Den. The panel chose the winning design “Choices”, which was created by three girls who attended St John’s Middle School Academy in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

Following the competition, John Campion, the West Mercia Police & Crime Commissioner, committed to fund the development of the winning design to turn it into a mobile phone app.
